Hello,my name is Debra Schoch and I"m a self-taught artist and collector of old stuff. I have a real weakness for Rabbits, cloth critters,old dolls,children's books,textiles,chalkware,transferware, botanicals,old advertising tins,and ephemera or whatever else grabs my fancy!!

I live in western Upper Michigan on Lake Superior,in a little house in the country with my loving and supportive husband for over 33 years and have 2 gray fat cats ,internet adoptees,found at petfinder.com {see on my links}.

We have a married beautiful multi-talented daughter & good hearted son in-law,and 2 little sweet grandchildren!!

Always thought I would grow-up to be a painter, but for now "Papier Mache" just clicked for me. Have tried many mediums and papier mache has been my favorite for over 10 years. Sewing is my second favorite, as I have always been a fabric addict! Lately I have been doing some Altered Art collages {always loved playing with paper cut-outs and paperdolls} they are quite addicting! Vintage and not so vintage fabrics gives me goosebumps..So really enjoy blending my passions,sewing, papier mache,paper arts and doll making.{I also repair old dolls}.

I like to recycle, so I use all types of junk and cast offs for my work,light bulbs,pop or wine bottles,sticks,boxes,cardboard or whatever I can find as foundations to sculpt over..Since everything is handmade each item is a unique one-of-a-kind piece..Many items are just that 'one-of-a-kind',while 'open editions' are repeated designs but never exactly the same twice..

Inspiration can come from everywhere and almost anything that grabs my attention. Then there is late night brainstorming!! Many ideas also come from customers.
